Elf n Safety Gone Mad!

We have all heard horror stories about 'elf n safety' restricting people from going about their day to day life. The truth of the matter is that these stories are at best a distortion of the truth and at worst a complete fabrication.

Health and safety is mainly about dealing with potential risk in a sensible and practical manner - that is why a key phrase you will often hear is 'so far as is reasonably practicable'. Health and safety is about saving lives not stopping them.
