HSENI Safety Alert - TEREX GB Limited Mobile Jaw Crusher requires immediate modification via manufacturer to prevent injuries for service personnel
Date published:

Introduction
HSENI have received a Product Safety Report for TEREX GB Limited Finlay J-1170+ Mobile Jaw Crusher (2503-0079) presenting a high risk of injuries.
The manufacturer has initiated a modification programme via the circulation of a safety notice within their dealer network.
Issue
The Product Safety Report has shown that the product presents a high risk of injuries as it is possible for the front pivot bolts assembled to the Vibrating Grizzly Feeder (VGF) mesh deck to become loose or detached. Loose or detached bolts may allow the mesh panel to slide from its normal operating position, leading to injuries for the service personnel.
Affected products
The front pivot bolt issue is found in the TEREX GB Limited Finlay J-1170+ Mobile Jaw Crusher, a portable jaw crusher designed for medium scale operators in quarrying, demolition, recycling and mining applications and was manufactured in the United Kingdom.
