In order to comply with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, public sector organisations such as HSENI have to routinely publish information whenever possible.
The Information Commissioner, who is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, has drawn up a 'Model Publication Scheme' for all public sector organisations.
The Commissioner has also published a Definition Document for Northern Ireland Non-Departmental Public Bodies which sets out in some detail what his minimum expectations are.
HSENI adopted the model scheme on 1 January 2009 and is formally committed to the principles underlying it. We have reviewed the information we routinely put into the public domain to ensure that it is compliant with the ICO guidance.
The HSENI Publication scheme sets out the categories of information we hold and where you can find it. You will also be able to see where HSENI does not hold relevant information or where, for some reason, it has been decided not to routinely disclose information.
Most of the information HSENI makes routinely available can be accessed, free of charge, through its website and it is continually updated. If you cannot find information through the search engine and we have indicated in the publication scheme that the information is routinely available, please contact us and ask for the information to be provided to you.

Certain very large documents or manuals may be made available for viewing by arrangement, however, where practicable, we will endeavour to supply sections of these documents by other means in order to meet specific needs.
