HSENI approves 2 revised ACOPS (L65 and L123) for use in Northern Ireland

New Regulations

In accordance with Article 18 of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, with the consent of the Department for the Economy, being the Department concerned, has:-

  1. approved the Health and Safety Executive Codes of Practice entitled:
     
    “Prevention of fire and explosion, and emergency response on offshore installations” (Third edition, 2016, L65); and
     
    “Health care and first aid on offshore installations and pipeline works” (Third edition, 2016, L123).
     
    The Codes of Practice can be read across to give practical guidance on the Offshore Installations (Prevention of Fire and Explosion, and Emergency Response) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 and the Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First-Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993,
     
  2. withdrawn its approval of the Code of Practice entitled:
     
    “Health care and first aid on offshore installations and pipeline works” (Second edition, 2000, L123),
     
    which will be replaced by the revised publication.

The approvals and withdrawal will come into effect on 26 September 2022.
