HSENI approves ACOP (L126) for use in Northern Ireland

The Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations 2019: Approved Code of Practice and guidance (Second Edition)

New Regulations

In accordance with Article 18 of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, with the consent of the Department for the Economy, being the Department concerned, has approved the Health and Safety Executive Code of Practice entitled “The Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations 2019” (Second edition, 2020, L126).

The Code of Practice can be read across to give practical guidance on the Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2019.

You can download a copy this L126 ACOP, along with a guidance document if reporting an incident to the PSNI, at the following link:

The approval will come into effect on 3 November 2023.
