The Department for the Economy has, on 15 June 2017, made a Statutory Rule entitled “the Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017" (S.R. 2017 No. 90).
The Regulations implement Directive 2014/34/EU of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of Member States relating to equipment and protective systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. They will replace and repeal the current Regulations (the Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 (S.R. 1996 No. 247)).
The Regulations will be included in the list of subordinate legislation on the HSENI website and in due course there will also be a link to a copy of the Regulations on the website http://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr
