HSENI today launched three consultations in relation to revised ACOPs issued by the Health and Safety Executive in Great Britain (HSE). In these circumstances the current HSENI ACOP approval will be withdrawn.
The consultations are as follows:
Proposals to approve the revised ACOP – L101 Safe work in confined spaces
This consultative document sets out proposals from HSENI to approve for use in Northern Ireland an updated ACOP on “Safe work in confined spaces: Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 (L101)”, drafted by HSE.
This ACOP and guidance is for those involved in work within confined spaces, those who employ or train such people and those that represent them.
Proposals to approve the revised ACOP – L122 Safety of pressure systems
This consultative document sets out proposals from HSENI to approve for use in Northern Ireland an updated ACOP on “L122 Safety of Pressure Systems”, drafted by HSE.
The revised ACOP and guidance is aimed at dutyholders under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 (PSSR) who are involved with pressure systems used at work. It is for users, owners, competent persons, designers, manufacturers, importers, suppliers and installers of pressure systems used at work.
Proposals to approve the revised ACOP – L113 Safe use of lifting equipment
This consultative document sets out proposals from HSENI to approve for use in Northern Ireland an updated ACOP on “Safe use of lifting equipment (L113)”, drafted by HSE.
The revised ACOP sets out what dutyholders need to do to comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 (LOLER). It will be of interest to those that work with any lifting equipment provided at work or for the use of people at work, those who employ such people, those that represent them and those people who act as a competent person in the examination of lifting equipment.
