HSENI has launched a new consultative document setting out proposals for the implementation of Commission Directive (EU) 2017/164 which introduces the 4th list of Indicative Occupational Exposure Limit Values (IOELVs).
IOELVs are European legal limits that are set to protect workers in the European Union from the ill-effects of hazardous substances in the workplace. Their legal status derives from Council Directive 98/24/EC on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to chemical agents at work (the Chemical Agents Directive). HSENI proposes to implement the 4th list of IOELVs by approving the amendments made to the legally binding Great Britain Health and Safety Executive publication: EH40/2005 Workplace Exposure Limits. This document is available on the HSENI website https://www.hseni.gov.uk/publications/eh402005-workplace-exposure-limits
