HSENI welcomes new research by the Northern Ireland Research and Statistics Agency (NISRA) on the Mental Health Status of the Northern Ireland population in employment.

The research project originated from discussion with HSENI to further explore statistics that are routinely published for Great Britain by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

It was agreed that the research could provide some information on the prevalence of depression and/or anxiety within the main occupational and industrial groupings, and would also compare the results from the subjective self-reported mental health measure with the objective measure based on prescription data.
