Carriage of dangerous goods annual audit template
Our colleagues within the Department for Transport’s Dangerous Goods Unit have developed a template that can be used by Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors (DGSA’s) when they are conducting annual audits of businesses who have appointed them to fulfil the role of DGSA.
All companies involved in the transport of dangerous goods need to complete an annual audit and this must be carried by a qualified dangerous goods safety adviser (DGSA).
This form provides a template for the audit report and asks about the:
- arrangements the company has in place to deal with the transport of dangerous goods
- provision of dangerous goods training in the company
- quantities of the different types of dangerous goods transported during the year
In addition, this would be useful for companies to use as a ‘self assessment tool’ in advance of an Inspector visiting their premises.
