Licensed contractor new handover form
This document explains that the Licensed Contractor should ensure that the asbestos enclosure or work area has been thoroughly cleaned by the contractor and that a thorough visual inspection has been completed by the contractor.The licensed contractor should complete a “Handover Form” which should be given to the Analyst before the 4-stage clearance starts. The Analyst should not start the clearance until the Handover Form has been received and is satisfactory. The Analyst should sign and date the form.Cleaning the enclosure is licensed work. It must not be carried out by the Analyst.

HSENI has undertaken an exercise to produce estimated Northern Ireland work related ill health statistics. The attached paper outlines the methodology used in the process, both in terms of Northern Ireland specific data and that extrapolated data from GB. While a number of assumptions have been made in carrying out this exercise, and are noted in the methodology, the information is provided to illustrate the estimated extent of the impact that poor work related ill health can have on individuals, employers, the economy and on society in general.
