Toolbox talks
A toolbox talk is an informal group discussion looking at particular safety issues. The discussions are generally part of an organisation's overall safety program. They can be undertaken daily to promote a safety culture.
A toolbox talk covers special topics on safety aspects related to the specific job. Meetings are normally short in duration and cover topics such as workplace hazards and safe work practices.
WISHNI has produced a series of health and safety ‘toolbox talks’ and guidance sheets for use within the waste industry:
- WISHNI toolbox talks - an introduction for employers
- WISHNI toolbox talk 1 - noise in material recovery facilities (MRFs)
- WISHNI toolbox talk 2 - housekeeping
- WISHNI toolbox talk 3 - safe workplace transport
